Rest in Him

God has given His people a rest in Christ. No longer are we at odds with Him because of sin, because Christ paid for our sin and our old man was crucified on a tree. Now we can walk in newness of life in the righteousness that is ours because of Christ. No longer do we need to feel guilt and shame because our sin has been paid for. We can lift up our eyes and hearts to our Father and climb into His lap. He tenderly cares for us and loves us. We can rest in His arms knowing that He will take care of our lives, even the small things.

Hebrews 4:9 says, "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God," and Hebrews 4:10 says, "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his."

We cannot work for righteousness, because it was given to us in Christ. We have Christ's righteousness because we believed. Now we rest in all that he did for us and now in us. We don't need to struggle, but rest in the knowledge of all that God did through His wonderful Son.
